Celebrating Black History Month

- with Windsor Police Services-

As part of the GECDSB's celebration of Black History Month, we are pleased to join forces with the Windsor Police Service to recognize the contributions of local African-Canadians to the history of our region and our country.

Six Windsor public schools will participate in special assemblies that highlight local African-Canadian police officers: Charles David Peterson, Harold Watkins and Alton C. Parker.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony at Giles Campus French Immersion Public School (874 Giles St. E.) on Thursday, February 16th from 9:45 a.m. – 10:45 a.m.

The presentation includes a video with first-hand accounts of the fortitude, bravery and resilience of these local heroes from their friends and families.

For more information contact GECDSB Diversity Officer Rachel Olivero @ 519-255-3200 ext. 10213 or Sgt. Wren Dosant of the Windsor Police Service 519-255-6173 ext. 1.
