English Language Learners at Westview Freedom Academy expressed themselves with their hands in Melissa Thibert's Visual Arts Class and got to share their intimate thoughts on canvas with the community through the Away From Home Art Show staged at MacKenzie Hall.
It was an F.S.E. (Final Summative Evaluation) project for the students about how it felt for them to move away from their homes and come to Canada. Most of the students are refugees, fleeing conflict or persecution in their native countries.
The art was displayed and open to public viewing for three days in February.
