Anumita is a Grade 12 student at Vincent
Massey Secondary School who is a determined and passionate student leader as well
as an advocate for student leadership. Since her Grade 9 year, she has
demonstrated versatility and leadership through many activities, including
the Windsor Symphony Youth Orchestra, Ontario Model Parliament Program, DECA,
Health Occupations Students of America, Badminton, Science Olympics team, Me to
We and being President of Massey’s Debate club.
As an activist for mental health, Anumita
organized a classical music concert in partnership with the CMHA, raising
awareness about mental health issues and funds for its treatment and education.
She will continue to advocate for improved mental health systems in schools
this year through her role as the Ontario Student Trustee Association’s Student
Well-Being working group co-chair.
Anumita is enthusiastic about collaborating
with the welcoming and tightknit GECDSB community. She is excited to meet new
students, learn from them and use the power of student voice to reinforce
accepting and comfortable school climates.
