Together We Can Make a Difference
- 15th Annual Social Justice Forum –
One hundred and fifty Grade 8 students from schools throughout Windsor and Essex County will increase their knowledge and awareness of social justice at a day-long forum on Thursday, February 21st at the University of Windsor's Odette Building.
This is the 15th year for this community-sponsored event with workshops provided on topics of Homelessness and Poverty, the Environment, Lessons Learned from the Holocaust, Removing the Stigma of Mental Illness and Experiential Learning Through the Arts. It begins at 8:30 a.m. running through 4:00 p.m.
Participating students are expected to bring back information learned at the forum to their home schools and initiate projects that foster social justice in their school communities.
The Social Justice Forum is sponsored by the Holocaust Education Committee of the Windsor Jewish Federation, UNIFOR Local 200 and the University of Windsor in collaboration with the Greater Essex County District School Board and the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board.
