Queen Victoria PS Honours Former Student

- Lt. Governor to attend ceremony for Farley Mowat -

Canadian literary icon Farley Mowat, who died in 2014 at the age of 92, is said to have embarked on his lifelong craft while he was a student at Queen Victoria Public School in Windsor in the early 1930s.

On Thursday, September 21st the current QVPS school community will celebrate the acclaimed author and environmental activist by dedicating a plaque to acknowledge Mowat's time at the venerable building.

Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, the Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell has accepted an invitation to attend the event and learn more about the school and its current students.

The ceremonies will begin with the arrival of the Lt. Governor at 1:45 p.m. The dedication is scheduled for 2:05 p.m. in the school's second floor library.
