Not Blowing Smoke
- community partners team up with some timely information on Cannabis-
Windsor Police Services, the Windsor Essex County Health Unit, the Local Health Integration Networks and the GECDSB will be sharing the stage at a pair of presentation on Wednesday, December 19th at Tecumseh Vista Academy to talk to high school students about cannabis.
The presentation will be provided to Grade 11 & 12 students from 11:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and Grade 9 & 10 students from 1:05 – 2:15 p.m.
Cst. Shane Miles, a drug recognition expert with the Windsor Police Service and a graduate of the Faculty of Law at the University of Windsor will talk about the legal aspects of the now legalized, recreational drug.
Health Promotion Specialist Ashleigh Atkinson from the Windsor Essex County Health Unit will talk about the health implications of cannabis use. Holly Sexton from the L.H.I.N. will speak with students about mixing cannabis, mediation and mental health and GECDSB social worker and attendance counsellor Sarah Reanud will address mental health and local resources.
