Exceptional Contribution to Hospice
- students & school community donate practical items-
The Colchester North Public School community is helping out the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County with a gift of practical items the organization needs, but usually has to purchase for itself.
Leadership candidates Alexa Soucie and Keaton Seal, who attended the GECDSB Leadership Camp in the fall, initiated a drive to collect things such as: non-slip socks, unscented wipes and soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, Ensure, Boost, dental floss, apple juice, Jello and puddings.
On Friday, January 25th the students and staff at Colchester North will load up a van to deliver the proceeds of their endeavor to Hospice (6038 Empress St., Windsor). They exceeded their original goal of 1,000 items, thanks, in part to support from the entire community which got behind the students' effort.
Most campaigns for Hospice raise money to assist the organization, however, the purpose of this campaign was for students to learn about the role of Hospice in the community and how it works.
