GECDSB students will begin returning to school on Thursday, Sept. 10th with the Grade 1 – 9 students leading the way in a staggered start to the year.
Group 1 of Grade 1-8 students (last name beginning in A – L) will join their teachers in class on Thurs., Sept. 10 and Mon., Sept. 14. Students in Group 2 (last name beginning in M – Z) will have their first days on Fri., Sept. 11 and Tues., Sept. 15.
Kindergarten students will come to school on Mon., Sept. 14 (Group 1: A – L) and Tues., Sept. 15th (Group 2: M – Z). All students will attend class together beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 16th.
Grade 9 students in the In-Person Adapted learning model will be the first ones back in GECDSB high schools with orientation scheduled for Group 1 (A – L) on Thurs., Sept. 10 and Group 2 (M – Z) on Fri., Sept. 11.
Grade 10 students will begin on Mon., Sept. 14 along with the Grade 9 students, in their assigned cohorts. Grades 11-12 will begin their regular school schedules, in their cohorts, on Wed., Sept. 16.
Secondary students participating in full, on-line learning through the GECDSB Virtual schools can complete their orientation module through the GECDSB website https://www.publicboard.ca/Programs/Student-Success/Programs/eLearning/Pages/Support.aspx#/= by Friday, Sept. 11.
On Mon., Sept. 14 (Group 1: A – L) and Tues., Sept. 15 (Group 2: M – Z) students will join their teachers on line. Full classes begin Wed., Sept 16.
Elementary students who are using the off-line paper packages have been contacted by their teachers with instructions for the start of their school year.
