Together We Make a Difference
- 11th Annual Social Justice Forum -
Dozens of Grade 8 students from elementary schools across Windsor and Essex County will be challenged to actively participate in solving society’s most pressing issues during the 11th annual Grade 8 Social Justice Forum, Thursday February 19th.
The forum is a collaboration of the Holocaust Education Committee of the Windsor Jewish Federation, UNIFOR Local 200, the University of Windsor and area school boards. This year’s theme is, “Together We Can Make a Difference”. Students will participate in a variety of workshops during the day on social issues such as homelessness and removing the stigma of mental illness.
Students are expected to share the information they have obtained at the forum in their school and initiate a project that fosters social justice in their community.
The Social Justice Forum is held at the Odette Building of the University of Windsor and begins at 8:30 a.m. For more information contact GECDSB Diversity Officer Rachel Olivero @ 519-255-3200 ext. 10213.
