 Strategies for Dealing with Stress
- Recognizing NSSI in our youth -

More and more, young people are turning to a self-destructive behavior known as Non Suicidal Self Injury (NSSI) to cope with daily stresses and anxiety. How do we identify the signs? Why are these young people doing this?  How can we deal with this problem? These are questions parents need to have answered.

As part of the Greater Essex County District School Board’s on-going Mental Health Seminar Series, there will be a free seminar on NSSI, January 21 at the Roma Club of Leamington at 7:00 p.m.

A second NSSI presentation will be held at the Caboto Club in Windsor on January 29 at 7:00 p.m.

Alan Goyette, Social Work and Attendance Councillor with the GECDSB will assist in understanding this behaviour, provide community resources and answer questions during this event.

There is no charge for both sessions and they are open to all members of the community.

Information on upcoming seminars can be found on the GECDSB website -
