Students at Anderdon Public School and Dr. David Suzuki Public School recently completed a used shoe drive for Enable Haiti and shipped 4,461 pairs of gently used shoes to the tiny Caribbean country.
Tuesday, April 21st at 10:30 a.m. the 2 school communities will celebrate their accomplishment during an assembly at Dr. David Suzuki Public School (6320 Raymond St., Windsor). During the campaign the schools enjoyed a friendly competition to see which could collect more shoes. The Mighty Oaks of Suzuki were the victors so Anderdon’s Principal, Kerry Green-Duren will receive a Mighty Oaks uniform to wear for a day at her school.
Jim Scott of the Enable Haiti organization will be present to officially announce the final total of shoes collected. He will also receive a check for $1000 from the 2 school communities, raised during the campaign.
