Safe Schools III
- in the event of an emergency… -

The Greater Essex County District School Board is pleased to be able to bring together a diverse group of community agencies and organizations for Safe Schools III on Friday, May 2nd. This will test all our procedures and responses to a major, weather-related emergency.

The exercise begins at 9:00 a.m. The scenario involves a tornado which has damaged Lakeshore Discovery School (376 I.C. Roy Dr., Lakeshore) and injured a number of students. Each organization involved will respond as genuinely as possible to the simulation. Hundreds of people will be involved, including OPP, Red Cross, Windsor Regional Hospital, Town of Lakeshore, Emergency Management Windsor-Essex and Belle River District High School.

Two Grade 7 classes from LDS will be taken to the designated reception and reunification centre at Belle River District High School, as part of the exercise. During their day at the high school they will take part in lessons on weather and other curriculum-related topics.
