Looking back….moving forward
- FNMI student symposium -
 
The journey, the obstacles and the future of Canada’s indigenous people will generate the discussion at this year GECDSB First Nations, Metis, Inuit Student Symposium Friday, June 13th at the University of Windsor’s Faculty of Education Building.
 
The day-long event (8:45 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.) is open to all GECDSB secondary students taking Native Studies courses and any secondary students who identify as First Nations, Inuit, or Metis. They will be informed and entertained by presentations intended to increase their awareness, understanding and appreciation for the history, culture and perspectives of indigenous peoples. The students will also select 2 workshops to attend from a selection that includes Traditional Drumming, Grandfather Teachings, and First Nations Political Structures.
