Manufacturing Program Gears Up
- industry partner to mold future tradespeople -

Belle River District High School will introduce an OYAP (Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program) Precision Metal Cutting Program in September and students will get their chance to work while learning their trade through a community partnership.

Friday, March 21st the Greater Essex County District School Board will announce an agreement with REKO International Group Inc. that will allow a number of students in the program to be mentored at the company’s Lakeshore plants for a portion of the school year. They will be earning co-op credits toward their high school diploma and money at the same time.

REKO International Inc. will be training young skilled tradespeople to meet the pressing demand in the manufacturing industry.

The announcement will be made at the REKO Manufacturing Lakeshore plant, 469 Silver Creek Industrial Dr. starting at 10:30 a.m.
