Partners Endorse Threat Risk Assessment Protocol
- collaboration increases community safety -

Partners from education, law enforcement, mental health services and community support agencies have worked together for more than a year to develop a Violent Threat Risk Assessment protocol, which aims to prevent and reduce serious violent behavior among young people in our area.

Tuesday, June 3rd at 4:30 p.m. at the GECDSB Administration Building (451 Park St, Windsor) representatives of the partners: the GECDSB, Conseil Scolaire Catholique Providence, Windsor Police Service, Amherstburg Police Service, LaSalle Police Service, OPP, Maryvale, Hotel Dieu-Grace, Youth Justice Services, Hiatus House, the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit, New Beginnings, Erie-St.Clair Community Care Access Centre and the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society will sign the final document.

The new Violent Threat Risk Assessment protocol supports collaboration among the partners and fosters timely sharing of information about children/youth who pose a risk of violence toward themselves or others. It also promotes supportive and preventative plans being established. The partners have developed the protocol with the guidance of Kevin Cameron, North America’s leading expert in threat and risk assessment.
