Bullying Awareness & Prevention Week
- knowledge = power  -

The third week of November is Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week in Ontario. Among the goals of this observance is for students, families and staff of school communities to learn more about bullying and its effect on learning and student well-being.

GECDSB schools have each developed their own plans to expand their knowledge and enhance their school climates.

The Board offers the opportunity for all Grade 7 students to attend a powerful and thought-provoking dramatic presentation, “My Daughter Veera” during Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week.

This production, staged by students from the Walkerville Centre for the Creative Arts, and its accompanying activities stresses the important role individual students can play in helping reduce and prevent bullying and violence at their school.

The performances will take place at Migration Hall in Kingsville on Monday, Nov. 16 and Tuesday, Nov. 17 and at Walkerville Collegiate Institute Thursday, Nov. 19, Monday, Nov. 23, Tuesday, Nov. 24 and Thursday, Nov. 26.

There will also be public performances on Monday, Nov. 16 at 7:00 p.m. at Migration Hall in Kingsville and Tuesday, Nov. 17 at 7:00 p.m. at Walkerville Collegiate Institute.
