Building New “Roads to Freedom”
- launch of revised curriculum resource -

The Greater Essex County District School Board will release its revised high school African Canadian Roads to Freedom resource at a brief ceremony (9:00 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.) Friday, September 25th at W.F. Herman Secondary School (1930 Rossini, Windsor).

First developed in 2007, to complement the Gr. 10 Canadian History and Civics courses, “Roads to Freedom” provides students with a greater awareness of the many significant contributions that African Canadians have made to the Windsor – Essex County region and across Canada.

Guests invited to speak at the ceremony include Irene Moore Davis, President of the Essex County Black Historical Research Society and Tea Jai Travis, founder of Bloomfield House.
