Continuing the Conversation
- Youth Mental Health Summit-

Students from all 15 GECDSB high schools will learn ways they can affect the mental health and well-being of their peers at a Youth Mental Health Summit Wednesday, November 21st at the Ciociaro Club.

More than 300 participants (approximately 20 from each school) are expected at this forum which is being held in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association and a network of community organizations. The goal is to continue the conversation around positive mental health, to reduce the stigma of mental illness and to help students achieve well-being.

Students will hear from guest speakers and attend workshops on topics of: social media, mindfulness, LGBTQ+, and sleep hygiene. They will be encouraged to share the knowledge they attain in their school communities and to develop on a project or an activity that highlights one of the topics discussed during the day.

The program begins at 9:45 a.m. and concludes at 1:30 p.m.
