to all the families that have requested technology for your child(ren). We are
in the process of verifying all the requests and getting the technology ready
for our students. We will be contacting families in the near future about the
pick up of devices. We want to ensure the safety of our community and this
means a very controlled and measured distribution method over the next little
while. We appreciate your patience as we work through this process.
Tues. March 24
closures the Ministry of Education and the GECDSB are providing online
resources which enables students at every grade level to continue learning
while away from school. These resources can be found on the Board website at www.publicboard.ca. A link to the
Ministry’s online portal, is also available at Ontario.ca/learnathome
To ensure that all
students can access these resources the Board will be lending out technology to
those students that do not have access to computing devices in their homes.
This is not meant to augment or increase the amount of technology in homes and
is only for students that do not have access to any devices. Those families
that qualify will be eligible for one device per household. Please visit the
Board website and fill out the Request for Technology form (link listed, below). This form will be
available on Wednesday, March 25th. If you are unable to access this
form please call your school and leave a message for the school Principal. This
message should include the name of the student, grade level, if you have access
to internet at home and your contact information.
The request for
technology form and phone calls will be accepted until 2pm on Friday, March 27th.
