Day Care Provider Named for New Kingsville K-12 School

Division Road preschool Executive Director Dana Colenutt signs the agreement with Director of Education Erin Kelly looks on.JPGThe new K-12 school that will be built in Kingsville will have 6 dedicated childcare rooms and today the GECDSB announced that they will be staffed and operated by Division Road Pre-school.

The Board's Director of Education Erin Kelly and Division Road Pre-school Executive Director Dana Colenutt recently signed an agreement to finalize this community partnership.

"Last year the Province of Ontario made a commitment to help create new, licensed, safe and high quality childcare spaces in schools across the province." Ms. Kelly stated.

"At the time when funding for our new K-12 school in Kingsville was announced it included daycare space for 90 children. Following the guidelines set out by the government and working with Dawn Bosco from the City of Windsor's Housing and Children's Services Department, we set about to retain a partner in the community of Kingsville to provide the services.

I am very happy today to welcome Division Road Pre-school as our first community partner in the Kingsville K-12 school."

Division Road Pre-school will also be providing on-site before and after school programs for K-6 students.

The Board is still in the process of acquiring land for the school, which should be open for the 2019-20 school year.
