Capital Funding Announcement

The Ministry of Education approved three proposals that will positively impact four schools communities.  The announcement was made at a public event on January 31st at Parkview Public School

Eastwood / Parkview School Consolidation

As a result of the East Windsor / Forest Glade Program and Accommodation Review (2017), a business case was submitted for a new school to consolidate the Eastwood Public School and Parkview Public School communities.

Approval has been granted by the Ministry of Education for a 501 pupil place school with a capital budget of $11.08 million. In addition, there will be four childcare rooms budgeted at $2.11 million. 

Addition to Queen Elizabeth P.S. (Leamington)

Following the Leamington area Program and Accommodation Review (2017), a business case was submitted for an addition to Queen Elizabeth Public School.

A grant of $1.7 million has been provided to build a three classroom addition to the school with 78 pupil places.

In addition $3.17 million has been granted for the construction of four childcare rooms and two rooms for an Early ON Child and Family Centre.

Essex Public School Daycare

The Ministry of Education has awarded a grant of $3.7 million to build seven childcare rooms at Essex Public School.

Land was also aquired for 2 new schools that were announced in 2016. The high school in Amherstburg which will replace General Amherst HS and Western SS will be built on the former Centennial Park site in Amherstburg. The new school to replace Prince Andrew Public School will be located on Judy Recker Drive in LaSalle near the Volmer Centre.
