Glenwood - Massey Laneway Officially Open

Massey - Glenwood laneway Ribbon Cutting.jpgFor more than a decade there has been traffic congestion in South Windsor around Vincent Massey Secondary School and Glenwood Public School.

The abscence of stopping or parking areas in the neighbourhood around both schools has caused years of difficulties with cars dropping off or picking up students at the schools.

On November 10th a ribbon cutting took place to open a 400 metre laneway running between the two schools which, it is hoped, will alleviate some of the traffic problems and enhance safety for students, as well as improving relations with neighbours who experience the traffic daily.

The board paid $850, 000 to create the laneway, all on Board property. Funding came from the grant provided by the Ministry of Education for school renewal needs.
