Quilts for Hospice

Students and Staff holding up finished quilts.jpgLast year Hospice of Windsor and Essex County presented Colchester North Public School with its Jan Dennis Youth Award. Students and staff at the school had conducted a drive to collect everyday necessities for patients.

That, it seems, is the beginning of a very warm friendship.

This year 10 students who have joined the Sewing Club are making quilts for hospice. They're designed to keep users warm while sitting in a wheelchair. They've already made a couple but they would like to do more and they're looking for donations of cotton material.

Teacher Lori Ross and Mrs. Kutz, a grandparent, are supervising the Sewing Club using machines donated by Mr. Lajoie and reconditioned by Mr. Regier from D & R Vacuum.
