Among the many special guests visiting GECDSB schools in the past year, Charmaine Reid was both popular and poignant.
A world-class badminton player, who represented Canada at the Olympics, Pan-Am Games and World Championships, Charmaine is part of the S'cool Mission in association with the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program.
During her visits to our schools, Charmaine entertained students with her skills and inspired them with her message. She talked about setting goals, working hard to accomplish them and overcoming setbacks along the way. Michelle Sprague-Keane, Principal at Queen Elizabeth PS in Leamington said, "She really inspired the students to reach for their dreams while teaching the key concepts about badminton. All of the students wanted to participate. It was a very engaging and exciting presentation."
"Charmaine was great!", responded Principal Tracey Rilett at Parkview PS. "The students were thrilled and very much engaged throughout the presentation."
