Welding medal winners.jpgStudents from GECDSB high schools took gold medals in 4 of 8 events at the annual Get Skilled trades competition at St. Clair College, sweeping the medals in 3 categories.

Get Skilled allows young people, learning a trade in high school, to test their abilities against their peers from throughout Windsor and Essex County. The  competitions were judged by professionals in the various fields as well as staff from St. Clair College. The events were: Architectural CAD, Auto Service, Team Carpentry (2-person), Culinary, Mechanical CAD, Photography, Precision Metal Cutting and Welding.​ All 38 GECDSB competitors receive $500 scholarships from St. Clair College just for participating. The top finishers in each category will respresent the Board at the Skills Ontario Regional Qualifying competition
