The Greater Essex County District School Board is assisting the Ontario Public School Boards' Association (OPSBA) to collect information about students' experiences with remote/online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We want to hear directly from students. The OPSBA has designed two surveys: one for students in Grades 5 and 6; and one for students in Grades 7 to 12. Students will be asked about their experiences with online learning before and during the pandemic, types of learning activities they did, how well online learning worked for them, and how things could be improved. The surveys are completely voluntary and will only require about 10 minutes to complete. Responses will be anonymous.
Parents/guardians have been sent an email through SchoolMessenger informing them about the survey and students will receive a link to the survey through their school email account.
OPSBA will use the survey results to work with school boards and other education partners, including the Ministry of Education, in planning a successful "return to school" once the pandemic is over. The survey will remain open until May 31st, 2021.
