The GECDSB Open Minds Program provides services and supports to First Nations, Metis and Inuit students and their families. Because of health and safety precautions due to the COVID-19 pandemic activities and resources have been altered to promote physical distancing, which means Student Support Workers may not be present in schools this year.
Staff members, however, are still eager to be involved with and enhance the educational experience for all our Indigenous students and their families so they have developed a number of ways to provide support and events on line.
Among the opportunities available this year are Oneida and Ojibwe language classes which will take place on-line on Tuesday evenings.
