City Councillor Ron Jones Visits Dougall Public School

International Children's Games Banner.JPGOn September 24 Ron Jones, a Dougall Dragon grad, visited his old public school with a gift of the first official International Children's Games poster on the behalf of Mayor Eddie Francis.

This event, in its history, has involved more than 35,000 participants representing 332 cities from 74 countries over 4 continents and is now believed to be the largest gathering of young people taking part in sport in the world.

From the first Children's Games in 1968 to now, the event has provided children all over the world a chance to compete and help them achieve their athletic goals.
A number of GECDSB students took part in this year's International Children's Games in Windsor as competitors and volunteers. Many also attended the events, which were free of charge and thousands of students have benefitted from the In Sport We Are One program that promotes fitness and healthy lifestyles.
