Costumes for Kids
is back. Tecumseh Vista Academy’s secondary student parliament is collecting gently used Halloween costumes from students and staff throughout the Greater Essex County District School Board.

The costume drive is running for two weeks, ending on Friday, October 17. Once the costumes are all collected and sorted, the Tecumseh Vista parliament will host an open house where children can come and pick out a costume for Halloween. The event will be held October 25, from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 pm at the Sandwich Teen Action Group (STAG) - 3735 King St, by Mic Mac Park in Windsor’s west end.

Children who attend this event will be treated not only their “new” costume to take home, but also to a complimentary hotdog BBQ, sponsored by New Beginnings. Link to Literacy will also be giving children a free book of their choice. Tecumseh Vista student parliament will also distribute free treat bags to those who attend.

Each year, upwards of 250 children have enjoyed this opportunity to celebrate the season, started by the Forster Secondary School student parliament 4 years ago.

Costume donations can be dropped off at the following locations: Tecumseh Vista Academy, David Maxwell PS, Parkview PS, Sandwich Secondary, Giles Campus, or the Board Office and the Student Senate.
