The Greater Essex County District School Board is preparing to become a candidate school of the International Baccalaureate diploma program. "We're very excited about the opportunity to offer IB to our students," says Superintendent of Education Dina Salinitri. "Starting in the 2017-18 school year we will provide preparatory courses for Grade 9 students at Riverside Secondary School and Leamington District Secondary School.."
This will appeal to passionate learners who embrace academic rigor, multiple perspectives and the challenge of thinking creatively and collaboratively in a global-minded school community. The students who accept this challenge will be well prepared to take the International Baccalaureate program in Grade 11 and 12. Generally, students who thrive in IB are open-minded, motivated, academically capable, balanced and resilient.
