At LaSalle Public School there are a number of families that have at least one parent who works in a front-line medical position during the COVID-19 emergency. To show their appreciate and esteem for those heroic efforts, LPS staff put together some gift packages that demonstrates, in a small way, how much they really care.
Staff collected enough cash donations to purchase gift cards for coffee and pizza, popcorn and personalized drinking cups for each of the 22 medical personnel. School administrators personally delivered their little surprises on Saturday (May 2nd). There was enough money remaining, after putting the packages together, to make a donation to a local organization that is making face masks for front-line workers.
One LPS family also made a donation of 200 face masks to the Schlegel Village Retirement Home.
