The dramatic skills of Walkerville Centre for the Creative Arts students will be tested in the program's 2018 feature presentation of The Trojan Women, a beautiful and moving tragedy based on the original play by Euripides.
The Trojan Women is set at the conclusion of the Trojan War. The Greeks have triumphed, and slaughtered the men of Troy, leaving the city's women awaiting their fate. The play strips away the heroism of war to expose the raw emotions of the survivors.
This production is being mounted with the support of the University of Windsor School of Dramatic Arts and Stratford Off the Wall which have assisted with the creation of sets, props, armour and the masks for the play.
The Trojan Women runs February 16, 17, 22, 23 and 24 at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday, February 18 at 2:00 p.m. in the Walkerville Collegiate auditorium. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and will be available at the door.
