Purchasing Property for New Schools

As part of the accommodation review processes and considering residential growth, new property is required by the Board from time to time.

As part of the due diligence process when purchasing new property, the Board utilizes a number of tools to aid in identifying risks, required action and costs associated with potential properties.  This could include the following:

·         Land Use;

·         Servicing;

·         Transportation Access;

·         Property Characteristics - Land Area and Frontage;

·         Natural Heritage;

·         Cultural Heritage;

·         Natural Hazards;

·         Environmental;

·         Building Condition (if applicable);

·         Geotechnical;

·         Site Location in the School Catchment;

·         Property Value;

·         Surrounding Land Use Compatibility;

·         Bussing Minimization;

·         Contractual Arrangements; and

·         Property Title Review.
