According to the GECDSB “Out of District Elementary Application Procedure”, elementary
out of district applications must be received by the Principal of the receiving school by
September 1st of the current school year. This deadline is strictly enforced.
If you are considering an application for your child(ren) to attend a school as an out of
district student, please ensure that your application is completed and submitted to the
principal by September 1st of the current school year.
A sibling of a student who has already been approved to attend an out of district school
must apply in the usual manner with no guarantee of acceptance.
Please understand that applying for out of district at any time may be denied based on
open vs. closed boundary schools, potential Program and Accommodation Reviews,
boundary studies, or capacity challenges, etc. Completion of the form does not guarantee
placement at a requested out of district school. The Superintendent responsible for
Elementary Staffing and Information Technology makes the final decision and applicants
will be officially advised, by letter, whether or not the application is approved.
