My name is Paula Hedgepeth, and I am the First Nations Metis and Inuit Student Support Worker. I will be working directly with FNMI Elementary Students, their families, and School Staff on matters related to Student Achievement, cultural inclusiveness and instilling public confidence.  My goals are to serve the FNMI community by helping to improve student achievement, provide cultural learning opportunities, and create greater opportunities for success in education. I also aim to promote an understanding and an appreciation for Indigenous peoples in our school communities.
I am from Onyo:ta ^ka (Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation).  I am active in my culture, in both traditional and educational aspects. I am OCT certified to teach grades 4-12 and continue to learn what I can on a daily basis to better assist my students and families. I also have two sons in the GECDSB, one in Grade three and the other in Grade ten.
