International Students
The GECDSB looks forward to welcoming International Students in February 2021. The Ministry of Education's DLI list is here for your reference: Welcoming K-12 International Students

Prior to arrival, International Students, parents and agents MUST read the GECDSB's protocol for pre-departure, travel and arrival in Canada and complete all required forms and attestations. This protocol outlines the many new requirements for international students who will study in Canada this year. Please check back often as government requirements are subject to change and new requirements come into effect. International Student Protocols for Pre-Departure, Travel and Arrival into Canada Nov. 5, 2020.docx

In addition, the Government of Canada has also prepared a document to advise international students and their families about how to prepare to study in Canada during the pandemic. 3075-Covid-19-Guide-for-International-Students-factsheet-EN-FINAL-HR.pdf

Given the Government of Canada's mandatory requirement for all travelers to Canada to quarantine for 14 days and the critical need to keep students, staff and local communities safe, the GECDSB has entrusted our official homestay partner MLI Homestay to provide a quarantine service and orientation program for International Students. This is a fantastic opportunity for incoming students to quarantine in a safe, secure, supervised environment while preparing for their studies in Canada.

Please contact Michelle Marcuz, International Students Program Lead, if you have any questions.

The Greater Essex County District School Board invites students from around the world to experience learning and life in Windsor and Essex County.

Our schools and programs reflect the consistent success of Ontario public education in global rankings. Our International Students have the tremendous opportunity to enhance their language skills and enjoy Canada's culture in a welcoming and diverse community.

"I really enjoy my life here," says one  international student. "It's a friendly atmosphere and a good place to study" says another. Students engage in collaborative, inquiry-based learning in the classroom and participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities offered at each school. Information about our International Student Program is listed in the left-hand margin.
