Parents As Partners
father holding child.JPGSchool is an extension of the home and parents play a vital role in the success of their child's Kindergarten experience. It's a proven fact; when children and parents talk regularly about school, children do better at school. When parents get actively involved, children not only get better grades, they are more motivated and have better self-esteem. Sometimes all it takes is asking "What did you do at school today?" and listening to the answer.
The level of student achievement increases proportionately with the level of parental involvement. You can set high but realistic expectations for your child's school experience. Encourage and recognize his or her special talents and successes at school and share the good news with family and friends.

Parents may also get involved in their child's education by being active in School Advisory Council activities.
