Camp Wonder is a three week day camp offered in July by the Greater Essex County District School Board for its students invited from the Primary grades. Each morning two qualified teachers lead work with small groups to enhance literacy and math skills. In the afternoon they participate in recreation and swimming programs at a variety of community facilities throughout Windsor and Essex County.
This Summer Learning Program focuses on developing students' growth mindset to support learning through inquiry-based activities. The teachers positively reinforce the math and literacy knowledge which has already been acquired during the school year.
Camp Wonder is uniquely structured to meet the needs of our students and their families, with sites for French Immersion (Camp Merveille) and First Nations, Métis and Inuit students (Camp Migizi) where indigenous cultures and traditions are explored and celebrated.
Parents can also play an active role in the learning as guests during weekly special event days.
