November Student of the Month

Iman Berry, Layla Bakaa with student of the month Caitlyn Humber.jpgCaitlyn Humber is a grade 10 student at Belle River District High School.

A bold and driven leader who leaves a positive impact within her school and a model citizen in her community. Caitlyn excels academically, maintaining a 94% average and holds the highest-standing average in business and civics along with the current highest mark in a Grade 11 course while only being her Grade 10 year.

Caitlyn is highly regarded in her school community. She is a member of student council, where she serves as the Community Outreach Junior Chair. In this position she organizes and executes all events relating to giving back to the community. She is the representative of the school blood drive and currently has a large leadership role running in the school can drive.

Caitlyn’s exemplary character extends beyond the school community. Within the Greater-Essex region, Caitlyn donates her time to supervise young children waking up early and staying long hours. She does so with intentions of helping families and ensuring the children are safe. Outside of school, Caitlyn has accumulated more than 100 volunteer hours and spends her time helping children learn to figure skating three nights a week.

In addition to her community involvement and academics, Caitlyn is bilingual. She is highly respected for her ability to speak French and serves as the French translator during school events such as pep-rallies and the Remembrance Day ceremony.

Caitlyn has displayed exemplary leadership and a strong commitment to her school and community. She encompasses all that is required in a great leader; compassion, diligence and initiative. Her positive mindset and exceptional leadership qualities will continue to inspire her peers and we are proud to congratulate Caitlyn Humber for winning the student of the month for the month of November.
