The April Student of the Month is Georgia Berg, is a Grade
11 student at Vincent Massey Secondary School. Georgia is a bold and driven
leader who leaves a positive impact within her school and the greater
community. She excels academically, maintaining a 90% average in all her years
of high school.
Georgia is highly respected and relied upon in her school
community. She writes for the school newspaper The ‘Stang, participates in
Science Olympiad, cancer club, morning announcement crew, and volunteers for various
school events like the Children’s Christmas Party and All Night Social.
Currently, Georgia is an MC and scriptwriter for Massey’s Multicultural show
and as President of the Debate Club she is currently organizing Massey Debate’s
Spring Invitational, a tournament open to students from Windsor-Essex.
Georgia’s exemplary character extends beyond the school
community. She was a provincial organizer for the “Students Say No” movement
that inspired more than 700 schools in Ontario to take action in the name of
student voice and spoke at the Rally for Education in Queen’s Park in defense
of public education.
