The Student of the Month for February is Sydney Doyle, a Grade 12 student at General Amherst High School. Sydney consistently demonstrates this month's theme of "Reliability".
Sydney takes great pride in being a hardworking member of numerous clubs and teams at General Amherst. Her involvement in many extracurricular activities has made her well known for her reliability and work ethic. A talented student athlete, Sydney has been on the girls' hockey team, the track and field team and the cross-country team. Her dependability as a peer mentor and member of student council has prompted various teachers to seek her out to take on additional responsibilities, which she happily obliges. Sydney maintains high grades while remaining dedicated to her extracurricular activities despite the many demands on her time.
In addition to her involvement in her school community, she also dedicates much of her time to the greater Windsor-Essex County community. An aspiring healthcare worker, Sydney volunteers at Windsor Regional Hospital's Metropolitan Campus in Pediatrics including in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Sydney volunteers at a horse farm where she demonstrates hard work by cleaning the stables. She is involved in the Border City Athletic Club where her teammates and coach rely on her participation and encouragement. Sydney has a part-time job at the Waterfront Ice Cream Parlour, where she is a very reliable employee who consistently demonstrates a strong work ethic.
Congratulations Sydney for being selected as February's Student of the Month!
