The Student of the Month for February is Grace Sabutsch, a Grade 11 student at Belle River District High School.
Recently, Grace entered the "Mirror Mirror" writing competition sponsored by OSSTF. Her short story entitled "Storms of Memory" about a woman with Alzheimer's Disease did very well in the competition. Grace won at the school level, the board level, and moved on to win in her category at the provincial level. A film crew attended the school recently following Grace around and interviewing her for a video that is to be played at the awards banquet in Toronto. Grace will travel there in mid-March and collect her $1,000 award.
In addition to being a talented writer, Grace is an honour roll student and an inspiration to her peers. Her classmates at Belle River are so proud of her, her hard work and her incredible accomplishment.
Congratulations Grace on being selected by Student Senate as the Student of the Month for February!
