Malek Mekawi is a Student Trustee at the Greater Essex County District School Board (GECDSB), representing the City if Windsor.

Malek Mekawi, a Grade 12 student at Vincent Massey Secondary School, is the 2021-22 Student Trustee for the the city of Windsor region.
Beginning at an early age he has developed a deep concern and desire to advocate for others. Malek has served on the Massey student council and the Hotel Dieu Grace Health Care Youth Advisory Council. He has worked passionately to promote Indigenous awareness and social justice issues such as mental health, substance abuse and poverty.
He promises to bring his leadership experience and determination to representing the needs and voices of students throughout the GECDSB.
