​On the weekend of April 7th-9th, nine players from the Vincent Massey Chess Club participated in the 2017 Ontario High School Chess Championships in Toronto. The team consisting of Ellen Tao, Lily Zhou, Zhehai Zhang, Joshua Mathews, Jeffrey Zhu, Stefano Lee, You Zhou,Jeremy Mathews, and Rachel Tao, finished first in both the Intermediate and the Championship sections, bringing home two big trophies. All the players won individual medals and a shout out to Joshua Mathews who earned 2nd overall in the Intermediate section.
