Grade 8 to 9 Out of District Application

Any current GECDSB Grade 8 student wishing to attend a secondary school other than their designated secondary school must have their parents/guardian complete the on-line Grade 8 - 9 application form between January 4 - 15, 2021.

A student may complete an Out of District application for only one secondary school.

If a student is accepted to the International Baccalaureate Programme, at Riverside or Leamington DSS; the Enriched Program at Massey; E-STEAM at Tecumseh Vista Academy or the WCCA at Walkerville CI, they do not need to complete the Out of District application.

IB Program Applications

The I.B. World School programs at Riverside Secondary School and Leamington District Secondary School are now accepting applications for the 2021-22 school year.

Both schools offer the Preparatory Program for Grade 9 and 10 students as well as the Diploma Programme for Grades 11 and 12.

Applications are currently accessible for ALL Specialty Programs from November 24 to December 11th, 2020, with the exception of Walkerville’s WCCA program closing on December 4th.

Homework Help

The GECDSB is pleased to offer another layer of support to students and families in the Greater Essex Virtual School (GEVS). We will be piloting a Homework Help after school program, beginning on Monday, November 16th, 2020. The Homework Help pilot project will run until Tuesday, December 15th. Online support will be available each weekday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 Monday to Thursday. Students who require support or assistance with their homework can request help by clicking the link below:

An after-school support teacher will contact the student as soon as possible to provide assistance.
