The International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) is one of the most recognized Computer Science competitions in the world. According to its website, contestants have to show skills in problem analysis, design of algorithms and data structures, programming and testing. "The students selected to attend the IOI are some of the best young computer scientists in the world."
Earlier in May, Massey students Zihao Zhang and Angus Kong competed in Stage Two of the Canadian Computing Competition. Angus placed 2nd in Canada in this contest and will soon be off to Brisbane, Australia to represent Canada at the International Olympiad of Informatics. The Olympiad will be held from July 6th to 13th.
This is the 7th time that a student from Massey has been to this international contest; Angus' older brother, Andy, was the first back in 2006.
