Euclid Math Contest
Since 2001 Massey hasn’t finished outside the top 10 in the country on the grade 12 Euclid Math Contest. Last year, Massey took the Canadian Championship for the first time since winning it in back-to-back years in 2002 and 2003.
The Euclid Math Contest is hosted by the Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing at the University of Waterloo. The contest is written in nearly 1500 schools across the country. Over 18 000 students wrote the two and a half-hour long math contest, which required full written solutions.
Back on April 15, over 130 Massey students from all grades participated in this year’s Euclid contest. Massey has done it again! Massey has claimed another back-to-back Canadian Championship, winning the Euclid again this year!
We edged out teams from North York, ON and Burnaby, BC by a single point to capture this year’s title. The team was anchored by Chen Chang, who led our championship team last year. Followed by Letian Chen, who finished 20th individually in Canada. And led by Leo Feng, our grade 9 rookie, who finished 13th in Canada.
Congratulations to all the Massey Mathletes on another successful year!
