Congrats to the Mustangs BOYS and GIRLS Curling team as they
both win the WECSSAA Championships!
For the first time since 2000, the Massey Mustangs have
taken home the WECSSAA Championship for BOTH boys and girls
Curling. The boys team, led by skip Trevor Way, battled with Tecumseh Vista
Academy. The Mustangs came out strong taking two in the first with hammer,
followed by a steal of two in the second to lead the Stangs to an eventual 7-0
win over Vista in 6 ends.
On the girls side, St. Anne's skip Natalie Begin came out
with a strong steal of two in the first but suffered an injury in the 2nd end
which allowed Mustangs skip Tiffany Scurr to make a strong comeback to lead the
team to a 10-2 victory over the Saints. This is the girls first WECSSAA
title since 2006.
Both teams advance to SWOSSAA - the girls in
Sarnia on Monday and the boys in Blenheim on Tuesday.
