Massey Multicultural Night

Food, friends, music, and fun!  This was the theme which prevailed and unified among the many nations represented during Massey’s Multicultural Evening, held this Tuesday November 26th, 2013, from 6:00pm -9:00 pm.   The cafeteria was overflowing with food and smiles, as over 400 attendees filled in to enjoy the culture and pride of Vincent Massey Secondary School.

Over twenty eight countries were represented throughout the cafeteria, as students in ethnic dress served up an overwhelming array of delectable and mouth-watering dishes.  Guests most certainly felt fortunate to partake in such an evening of delicious cuisine and entertainment, as the most difficult part of the night became choosing what to eat!  Music was also an important part of the evening, as students partook in impromptu ethnic dances among the crowd.  The mood was lively and a feeling of comfort and enjoyment prevailed.

Within the representation of numerous and individual cultures, similarities triumphed over differences.  Amongst the multitude of colorful and beautiful clothing, music, and food, one strong sentiment prevailed: our individual differences merge together into one distinct family and culture: the community of mutual respect and unity within Vincent Massey Secondary School!

A special thank you is extended to Mrs. Mohan and Mrs. Sikman, whose guidance and supervision helped form the evening, along with the numerous student leaders and families who helped make this event so memorable.MC3.JPG
