Vincent Massey Secondary School

Movember moustaches made an impact this year at Vincent Massey Secondary School, with a very committed male staff raising over $1800 towards male health.  Male staff kept their razors on the shelf for the duration of the month of November in order to facilitate online donations towards male prostate and testicular cancer, as well as mental health.

A secondary school wide challenge for the Movember fundraiser was posed by Massey Principal Mr. Ash, who wished to not just grow moustaches, but also awareness regarding men’s health throughout the Windsor and Essex County area.  Memos, posters, and smiles kept Massey staff motivated and dedicated throughout the month, with a final culmination of a first prize trophy going to the "Massey Mostang Team" for raising the most funds!  Herman S.S., Forster S.S. and Harrow D.H.S.  followed close behind.

A thank you and congratulations goes out to all staff who participated, whether through growing facial hair, awareness, or donating funds!  The key result of the month’s fundraiser was not only in enabling monetary assistance, but in working together we were able to raise local consciousness concerning a global wide cause.  When we group together to help those in need, we can uplift the spirits of many, ourselves included, and make a difference.
